Phone Number: 715-574-1291

Locations: Amherst, & Schofield Offices, Telehealth

Dr. John Borgen, Psy.D., BCBA-D is a licensed clinical psychologist and behavior analyst. He earned his Masters degree in clinical psychology from Marquette University and his doctoral degree from the American Psychological Association-accredited clinical psychology program at Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Borgen has provided therapeutic services and evaluations with children, families and adults in telehealth, outpatient and hospitalization settings.

He has primarily focused on children with autism spectrum disorder, pediatric feeding disorders (eating less than 5 different foods) and challenging behaviors (e.g., hyperactivity, aggression).

Dr. Borgen sees his role as facilitating change with a client and utilizes acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness practice toward these goals. Ultimately, the goal is always that the client can learn to navigate their world and challenges independently as a result of benefiting from sessions.

Dr. Borgen is a proud Wisconsinite and avid Green Bay Packers fan. He attended Amherst Elementary School and Waupaca Middle and High schools. In his off time, he enjoys trekking through the wilderness with his Norwegian Elkhound, Sköll, cooking and crossword puzzles.
