Joseph Burclaw
I grew up from humble beginnings and was always intrigued about human behavior. My philosophy is “treat others the way they prefer to be treated”with dignity and respect. My treatment approach is a more Humanistic and Person-Centered. Despite the stigma that still exists in our society today, I think we forget that we are all human. I take an objective approach in listening to your story, after all I would want the same. I've been married since 2006 and we have a son in middle school. We have 1 dog. I was also in the WI ARNG for over 12 years. I am a disabled veteran that served two tours of duty. I enjoy family time, fishing, hunting, and doing activities outdoors.

I have been providing substance abuse counseling since 2008. I have worked in many different levels of care. i.e. Hospitals, Residential Treatment, IOP, and Outpatient Services.
I have been providing Psychotherapy in Outpatient Services since 2017.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is used for distress associated with traumatic memories.
Treatment Style
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help treat mood and/or anxiety disorders. EMDR is used for reprocessing traumatic memories. I may use Solution-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness practices as well.
